Shirley Linde, editor of Cruise Recipes, is a best-selling author whose books have been translated into languages around the world. She has written both on science and on travel, is author of 37 books, including several on the NY Times best-seller list. ALVARO MARIN MD

Alvaro Marin MD was one of the founders of www.CruiseRecipes.net and was available for assistance for wine and culinary charters for groups speaking Spanish. Dr. Marin grew up in Colombia and practiced medicine there as well as in England, Spain, and Uruguay. He also for many years went with the Pacific Air Patrol, an airborne medical unit, on missions into some of the most inaccessible places in the world — to little towns of the Pacific and Caribbean coast, to Indian villages in the Colombian mountains, and to remote areas of the Amazon from the heart of the jungle to its furthest borders. Due to the resurgence of civil war in Colombia and death threats against him and his family, he and his family left Colombia. He was living in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he was also working on our websites www.medicalinformationcenter.org and www.smallshipcruises.com and was writing his memoirs of his medical work in Colombia.
Scott Linde is responsible for the group and charter division of CruiseRecipes.net. arranging for large groups with wine and culinary interests to travel on wine and culinary cruises as a group or to charter yachts and ships for custom cruises, as floating hotels for special events or meetings, or for corporate incentive award cruises. Scott has years of experience in the corporate world and is known for his product design and development in many areas, especially working for more than 20 years in the leather goods industry. Scott has been a world traveler throughout his corporate life and helped pioneer the U.S. leather goods industry in Asia, the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico. Scott is an avid scuba diver and fisherman and has dived in the U.S., Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico and Thailand.
Bob Linde, a founder, is an avid sailor as well as a chef. As a travel writer he has visited the Peruvian Amazon, Northern European waterways, and the Galapagos Islands, to name a few. Bob spent 5 years in the US Army, including 3 years in Europe and 6 months on the front lines of Desert Storm. He has also worked as a university instructor of sailing and navigation, a counselor for troubled youths, a commercial fisherman and Greenpeace activist. He now practices Chinese traditional medicine and is president of Acupuncture & Herbal Therapies in St. Petersburg.
